It’s pretty simple really. It starts with our 1-hour cinnamon roll recipe but instead of baking it into cinnamon rolls, we stuff it full of apple filling & fry it.

Here are some commonly asked questions

Can I use canned filling?

I have not tried that yet. It might be too moist and make the dough fall apart. But I suppose it couldn’t hurt to test it out.

Can this be made with another type of fruit?

I would imagine that would be pretty delicious. I have heard of blueberry fritters. The key is to cook out a lot of that liquid in the fruit before adding it to the dough so it fries well.

How many can this serve?

This recipe makes about 20 fritters depending on how large or small you make them. It is perfect for the whole family to enjoy all weekend long or when you have a house full of guests over the holidays.

Can this recipe be doubled?

You sure can double this recipe. However, the dough fills my mixer bowl. So if you have the capacity for double the dough, or you have a couple of mixers you can use at the same time, this is definitely a recipe you’ll want a lot of.

What is the best way to store leftover apple fritters?
