Ripley’s Aquariums are committed to providing the highest standard of welfare for our animals, from routine veterinary care to numerous research and conservation initiatives on both a local and global level. We aim to foster a culture of sustainability that helps build a legacy of ecological stewardship and inspires the next generation of conservationists.
The aquarium is open daily, year-round from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the summer and on weekends and holidays the aquarium is busiest from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on off season peak hours are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Give yourself about between two and three hours to properly enjoy the full experience.
You can go thru in an hour or it can take several hours, it depends on you and/or your group. We were there apps four hours. Helpful? I would say an hour to 2 hours.
However, more than one reviewer noted that the aquarium is somewhat pricey for its size. Still, many families who visited said they enjoyed the multitude of fun, educational activities and considered the excursion one of the best things they did during their trip to Gatlinburg.
At Ripley's three aquariums, guests can enjoy the beautiful colors and peaceful serenity of the world's most exotic coral fish, travel on moving glide paths, touch a sting ray or even dive with the sharks.

Dive into Ripley's Aquarium for an affordable underwater journey. Horry County locals enjoy a 50% discount with proof of residency and receive an additional 25% discount for up to four guests.
Located just three miles south of central Myrtle Beach along U.S. Highway 17, park hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily fishing pier passes are $8 for ages 16 and older, $5 for adults over age 65, $3 for children ages 6 to 15, and free for children under 5.
Overall, it took us 3 hours to see everything (including lunch break), so it's definitely not worth the price of admission ($30 per adult) when you can go to the zoo and see much more for less money.
Planet Jellies is one of the largest Jelly Galleries of its kind in the world displaying four species of jellies, beautifully exhibited in backlit kreisel tanks and colour-changing displays. A kreisel tank is a special tank designed specifically to keep jellyfish.
The Ripley's Aquarium of Canada offers guests an opportunity to explore nature as they learn about different marine life. It has something to fascinate children and adults.
It was small and solved easily more than once. We went through three times in a row using a different entrance each time and sole all three in a combined time of maybe 15 minutes. This is good for small kids but 12 and up not so much. But the Mirror Maze at Broadway at the Beach was Awesome!
