NEW PUBLICATION! Collaboration with my colleague Tomas Sitzmann (from the University of Turin) within the scope of the FertiCycle. Peat is currently used as the organic matrix of organo-mineral fertilizers. This study proposes the use of different biowastes as peat replacements. It also investigates which are the main mechanisms affecting the nitrogen and phosphorus availability of organo-mineral fertilizers! https://lnkd.in/djThGnFM

Make Sense of Autumn Fall Fertilizer Labelsby Ken Lain, the mountain gardenerChemical Fertilizers are inexpensive and widespread, but what are they?Fertilizer manufacturers like Scotts, Miracle-Gro, Vigoro, and Ironite create artificial fertilizers by combining inorganic chemicals to form compounds like ammonium nitrate or magnesium sulfate. An advantage of chemical fertilizers is that rapid-growing plants take up nutrients quickly, sometimes too fast.Disadvantages include harmful effects on pets that play in the area, bird safety, and the negative impact on garden worms. Chemicals have a negative potential for drinking water when misused. The chemicals are released so rapidly that they taint your drinking water for those on a well. Earth-friendly organics are highly recommended.Read the Entire Blog Posthttps://lnkd.in/gU_Va3jY#wattersgardencenter #wattersgardencenteraz #fertilizer #plantfood

An example on how ChainCraft is creating an industry in which all chemistry is circular. ♻ ChainCraft converts organic residues from agri-food processing companies into valuable chemicals. Our full-scale facility will produce substantial volumes of Potassium and Ammonium sulfate. These products are important fertilizers for the agri-food industry, eventually helping the growth of our own potential feedstocks. 🥔 🥕 🍅 Let’s close the nutrient loops! #turningchemistrycircular #sustainableagriculture #fertilizers

Why not use synthetic Natural Phosphorus For Tomatoes? It’s a reasonable question. After all, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium ARE chemicals, so where is the advantage in these bags of heavy, grainy stuff, that need to be measured and mixed and then dug in, when you can just pick up a small plastic bottle of the blue stuff? There are several organic Natural Phosphorus For Tomatoesbenefits, some purely altruistic, others much more self-interested. First of all, most inorganic Natural Phosphorus For Tomatoesprovide only that well-known trio, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). These three, known as the macro-nutrients, are indeed required in greater quantity than any others, but they are only three of the thirteen nutrients plants need. The three chemicals that qualify as secondary nutrients, calcium, sulfur, and magnesium are generally ignored, as are the trace nutrients, boron, chlorine, manganese, iron, zinc, copper, and molybdenum. While these are needed in far smaller quantities than the macro-nutrients, they are still essential.
