Honkai Star Rail: Best Team Compositions For Boothill (2024)

The world of Honkai Star Rail is filled with stellar characters for players to attempt to add to their team. Boothill is no exception to this, with a kit built to deal with devastating amounts of damage. As a character on the path of The Hunt, Boothill excels at dealing lots of damage to one enemy at a time.

As Boothill is a main DPS who deals physical damage, his kit revolves a lot around the Break mechanic - making him ideal for fighting bosses. Boothill makes a great addition to any team as his ability to apply weakness to physical damage to enemies allows him to almost disregard recommended elements for battles. If you haven't got many DPS characters, Boothill has got you covered.

Best Team: Break

Boothill's best team revolves around utilizing support characters in order to achieve the break effect as much as possible. With both Bronya and Ruan Mei in the fight, Boothill benefits from both extra actions and a delayed weakness break recovery for enemies.

Bronya is Boothill's best support in the game, thanks to her ease with granting extra actions. It's best to get Bronya's E1, as it allows for better Skill Point generation, meaning you're more likely to be able to give a bonus action to your team.

With Boothill's normal attacks being particularly strong, Bronya's kit is his best match. If you've got But the Battle Isn't Over as her light cone, then she'll get extra skill points every time she uses her Ultimate.

Bronya essentially allows for almost unstoppable attacks from Boothill, making the Break effect even quicker to achieve.

Any free-to-play Abundance character works well with Boothill. However, as Gallagher also scales with the Break effect, he makes a good addition to this team. It's best to pull for Gallagher until you've got his E4, as his healing capabilities then increase even more - as well as the duration of the Debuff from his Ultimate.

In order to make the most of Gallagher, it's recommended to equip him with the Night of Fright Light Cone. By having this, he can use his Ultimate more and consequently apply the Besotted debuff on enemies more. Once enemies are affected by his Debuff, they'll take more Break damage - paving the way for a Boothill smackdown.

Ruan Mei is a very strong support as she's able to delay an enemy recovering from the Weakness Break effect, as well as provide a lot of other helpful buffs. If you're lucky enough to have pulled her twice and have her E1, her Ultimate allows your team to ignore 20 percent of the enemy's defense. Her skill also enhances the entire party's ability to achieve the Break effect, something that works perfectly with Boothill.

Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations is the best relic set for Ruan Mei in this team, as it allows her to get the 180 percent Break Effect she needs to maximise the effects of her buffs.

Super-Speed Break

This team works similarly to Boothill's best team, except swaps out Bronya for Asta - therefore, is a little less reliant on Gacha luck.

Asta works well with Boothill as her whole kit focuses around granting speed to allies, allowing more actions for your party - therefore more Break damage for Boothill. If you're adding her to your team, you'll want to focus on Energy Regeneration when building her to maximise the amount of times she can boost speed.

We'd recommend the But the Battle Isn't OverLight Cone to ensure she has good energy regeneration and her Ultimate can be used repeatedly with ease. Her best Eidolon is E6, which prolongs the duration of all her buffs.

For your Relics and Ornament, you'll want to give her Messenger Traversing Hackerspace and Broken Keel. The former will not only increase Asta's speed, but also the speed of all of her allies whenever she uses her Ultimate. If using Broken Keel, make sure Asta's Effect RES is at 30 percent in order to benefit from the ornament's ten percent increase to Crit Damage.

Super Break

This team revolves around Super Break damage, in addition to regular Break damage. If you're not aware, Super Break damage can only be achieved by the Harmony Trailblazer, and it scales with both the break effect stat and character level. A free-to-play character, Harmony Trailblazer is a must-have for this team.

Harmony Trailblazer can be added to your team once you've completed the “Beauty and Destruction.” mission, added during the 2.2 update. If you want to unlock the full potential of this character, unlock their E4 to maximise the Break effect you can achieve.

You'll need to equip them with the Past Self in Mirror Light Cone as this increases the wearer's Break Effect by a whopping 60 percent. After using an Ultimate, all allies get a 24 percent boost to their damage for three turns. As with Ruan Mei, Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations is the best relic set here, as it provides additional Break Effect boosts to other party members.

Talia, Kingdom of Banditry is the ornament that should be used in this build, as it can give a break effect boost of up to 20 percent.

On top of this, Harmony Trailblazer can give Boothill more damage on top of the Break Damage he already deals, with Super Break damage. Trailblazer's Ultimate increases the damage your team deals against Weakness Broken enemies.

Free to Play Boothill Team

This is a very beginner-friendly team, thanks to its dual healer setup. However, in a build like this, most of the healing would be done by Natasha - with Gallagher focusing on applying the Besotted debuff to enemies.

Natasha can be added to your team whilst completing the "Lying in Rust" mission. However, any other free-to-play sustain character will work well with Boothill to provide a bit of security. In addition to her being the easiest healer to acquire, you don't really need to rely on any Eidolons to build her - so long as you prioritize her Skill and Ultimate when upgrading traces.

If you want to give her a bit more power as a member of your team, equip her with the Night of Fright Light Cone to heal allies every time someone uses an Ultimate ability.

With her on your team, you'll want her to have the Messenger Traversing Cyberspace relic set, as this will provide a speed buff for your entire team - meaning more Break damage for Boothill.

As with the other team compositions, Gallagher will provide more healing for your characters, as well as debuffs to allow Boothill to deal even more damage. Harmony Trailblazer should be equipped with the Dance! Dance! Dance! Light Cone for a better free to play experience. Whenever the Trailblazer uses their ultimate, in addition to the Backup Dancer buff, all allies' actions will be advanced forward by 16 percent.
