The A10 transmission in my 24 GT is constantly up/down shifting when on an uphill grade. We live in Southeast Missouri, and hills and curves are everywhere. Seems like everybody but me loves this transmission. I never had a problem with the 6-speed automatic in my 2017 GT, but this 10-speed is a nightmare.

Hi there! I can look into your Mustang's shifting concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mustang's VIN?

I had the opposite 6 vs 10 in my F150's. The 6 was always hunting for the right gear. The 10 either isn't or it changes much more smoothly. Both were 5.0.

What drive mode are you in? I notice when my car is in sport it downshifts pretty hard, almost like engine braking.

Something is off with your transmission or the programming. I've never experienced anything like that in the nine months I've had mine. Unfortunately, it sounds like a trip to the dealer will be necessary.

I go up and down hills all the time and haven't noticed any erratic shifting.

I think it takes some time to adjust to your driving style. I missed my A6 at first also, but after 8k miles I love the A10

Disconect the battery for 15 minutes to reset the tranmission to relearn mode. Follow the relearn transmission proceedure to see if it solves the issue. Also check fluid level using proper proceedure.

Thanks - where do I find the relearn proceedure?

If you don't have a Ford service manual one could do a search for the proceedure. However you would have to sort out all the non applicable ones. All my service manuals are for non A10 vehicles or I would post it. If you are not comfortable doing this take it to the dealer as they have tools to fully check the TCM. After all you have a warranty.
